About

aboutpic1Eric Heinzman is a Charlotte, NC based web designer. With experience in web and interactive design going back to 1995 when he built his first website in the original Netscape Navigator browser, his current focus is on building content rich sites using Wordpress, the powerful-yet-flexible blogging and content management platform. “I recommend Wordpress to my clients because it allows your site to seamlessly integrate with today’s latest social media tools, is search-engine friendly right out of the box, and gives you the ability to update your site’s content without having to call a web designer (me!) every time you want to make a change.”

Eric developed a very clean and clutter-free visual style working as the lead interactive designer for a pair of technical communication and workforce learning practices — GhostWriters and VisionCor. He mastered HTML and CSS during this time, as many projects required him to serve as both designer and developer. “Being a team of one requires you to always be thinking ahead. A seemingly minor decision made during the design phase can have a major downstream effect on the code architecture. Having an in-depth understanding of the issues facing both design and development has made me better at both, because the two constantly interact.”

That versatility across multiple skill sets has made Eric into a valuable asset for teams he has worked within. In addition to his front-line site building skills, he has also managed entire projects, coordinating teams, tasks, communications, and schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.

When not at work, Eric performs music – he is an accomplished electric bassist – and is active in Charlotte’s arts community, as a board member of the Charlotte Art League. He is the proud father of a five-year-old daughter who is smarter than he is.
